At GiantIsland.com, we take great pride in what we do and what we stand for. Our mission is simply to empower the personal website owner by building and selling small, "lite", easy-to-install, database-free website products for the World Wide Web software community. Developing simple website applications that help people manage their valuable photos, images, audio, mp3's, and video online is what we do. Getting people to buy their own domains and bring that data back to their personal websites, is our singular mission.

Fulfilling that mission is the goal that stands behind every single unit of web software we sell! But it is our philosphy that drives that mission, as well as all our product development.

We feel the World Wide Web and the new Web 2.0 and software/service/subscription based web model is slowly eroding the user's ability to centralize, distribute, and secure their personal data. Control over that data is being lost everytime one stores their files on another company's website, device, or portal. The current service-based web system we all share online makes this convenience a viable model for many users. Over time, a user's files are scattered all over the world in dozens of websites and databases, far from the true source of that data, which is you, the user. The price we are all paying for convenience is loss of data control, and ultimately personal data abuse and identity theft. Without personal website software tools that support user data inside one's website, most of this valuable data is lost to the user. In time, a new model must be found...

We want to help, and build website software tools that help you now with that problem. Helping online users take back control over photos, data, and media using their own personal website domain and simple web software is our central philosophy, and ultimately, our end-goal. Doing so empowers people to manage and control how their photos, music and movies are used and viewed over the lifetime of the user, and allows the user to take permanent control over the distribution of their personal online website data. Thats a very powerful idea, if you think about it. Very few of the online services offered today truly offer that or assist in that process. Only a personal website domain, supported by superior website software owned and managed by the user, can provide that type of control and ownership over data.

How are our Island Products different than other Website Software Programs you see online?

Our Website Products are NOT Desktop Applications...

Our Web Products are VERY different from most web software you may find for sale or download online. Unlike many of the more popular products, our web products are NOT DESKTOP SOFTWARE applications that recreate html you must post online! 90% of the products that claim to be web photo software applications are nothing more that desktop applications that generate HTML pages you FTP to your website! Yuck!!! Why would you want to buy something you are forced to install on your home computer? Why would you want to regenerate HTML photo galleries everytime you add new photos? With these solutions, you can't upload new files unless you are at home and have a copy of this software available on that one computer. If you change computers, you are out of luck getting your valuable photos to your website, and what's worse, have to pay for another copy for that computer, if you do decide to purchase it for that computer. Plus, you are stuck with generated html pages with your photos "stuck" in them, versus a system that dynamically adds and displays photos in web pages based on what you change on the website live via an administration area.
