Upload Multimedia to your Website
Uploading multimedia to your website is easy with MediaIsland 2.0. All you need to upload multimedia is a web browser and MediaIsland setup in your website! It is actually three products in one, so has the same upload and media support features as all three of our media products combined. For this reason, MediaIsland supports all kinds of multimedia uploads, including Windows Media, QuickTime, Real, Flash, JPG, GIF, PNG, and many many others. So, you can be sure, when you upload multimedia, they play online in the format you intended to play in. Unlike many of the other online multimedia products, MediaIsland does not create HTML pages of files you then must post to your server. Nor does MediaIsland "convert" files to other formats when you upload multimedia to the server, but supports your native media mime format as you originally encoded them. In addition, our uploader does not require any additional setup, plugins, desktop software, COM objects, JAVA Applets, databases, or anything else to function. It uses simple web scripts built right into the web page. This means you and your users can start uploading your media quickly!

After installing MediaIsland on your web server and setting up all server requirements*, you can simply open up the Audio, Image, or Video Manager, click "Upload", and begin uploading your multimedia right away in MediaIsland. The Audio and Video upload pages support a unique upload website technology that allow your uploads page to display a handy little loading bar. As you upload media to your web server and website, the loading bar allows you to track the process of uploading media to the server. For larger media items, this is especially helpful when adding those items to your website.
After upload is complete, the Audio and Video upload web pages show you a clickable preview of all your audio and video media. You can simply click a preview in the listing to view or hear what was uploaded to your website.
Allow Users to Upload Multimedia
With MediaIsland, you can also add the ability for other users to upload multimedia to your website! You can even allow your customers to login to MediaIsland, and using their web browser of choice, upload multimedia without your help. Using the Security feature in MediaIsland, it's simple to add a new user, create a username/password, then assign the user to the MediaManager Module. Simply email your new user their credentials and in no time they too can log into your website, and begin uploading their own media to your site. This saves you time trying to get CD's of multimedia items from customers or media devices to your server and site. After uploading, your users can manage and share all their media securely from the MediaManager, just like you. As the site Administrator, you can simply login and see their items in your MediaManager. Note: Users cannot access or change anyone else's multimedia, using their login credentials. But, the Administrator can review all multimedia after they are uploaded to your site.
